Checked on an emergency call in Crosbyton where water was actively dripping through the ceiling drywall underneath an attic furnace unit. We found that a completely rusted-through metal emergency drain pan on a Carrier split heat pump system had allowed standard condensate overflow to leak directly onto the sheetrock. We replaced the corroded metal pan with a heavy-duty polymer emergency pan, installed a dual float switch safety system, and verified proper drainage slope. This saved the drywall ceiling from major structural damage and got the AC safely back online.
